Complying with ADA requirements The ADA gave rise to a multitude of complaints and lawsuits about interviewing, testing, organizing work, discipline and termination, largely because of ambiguous guidelines and the lack of knowledge on the part of supervisors. The U. S. Supreme Court recently narrowed the scope of the law, but employers still have significant responsibilities and exposures under the law. The objective of this 45 minute computer-based tutorial is to make sure supervisors don't compromise an employer's ADA compliance by an inadvertent mistake or failure to make a reasonable accommodation for employees (or applicants) with disabilities. Three topics are covered in the program: * Covered disabilities
under the ADA, including the so-called "hidden
disabilities;" The ADA Compliance program is available in Windows and Internet versions. All are updated at least annually, based on significant Supreme Court and Appeals Courts rulings. |
