The nature & extent of harassment The commonly-held conception of sexual harassment is that it involves a male supervisor who tells a female employee that if she has sex with him, she'll be better paid, promoted or simply better treated. "You can keep your job if you meet me at a motel," was the phrase attributed to one Long Island corporate executive in a 1997 trial. Sexual harassment, most people assume, is nothing more than a "put-out-or-get-out" attitude by a boss. |
