The nature & extent of harassment

That's probably the least common form of harassment. It's known in the law as quid pro quo harassment. It certainly happens, and most of the incidents that make the headlines involve quid pro quo harassment . . . but it's not all there is to the problem, nor is it really important that you know the name.

Quid pro quo harassment is what most people think of when they hear about a harassment complaint, but it is not nearly as common as a different form of harassment known as a hostile work environment. The hostile work environment will be the focus of most of our attention in this course.
