The nature & extent of harassment

In the majority of the hostile work environment incidents based on sex, the harassing conduct consisted of unwelcome sexual touchings and comments.

A female attorney working for a major government agency described a pattern of harassment thus: "during daily chats in his office he discussed women's underwear, complained about his marriage, remarked that she had a "great looking body," and told her, "I'm very attracted to you."

In another case, the female clerk in a warehouse office said her boss on more than one occasion grabbed her breasts, in one case in full view of other employees and said, "you can see two good reasons why I hired Susie."
